SICILY. Leontini. Circa 450-440 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.36 g, 7 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΛEO-N-T-I-NO-N Head of a lion with open jaws to right; around, four barley grains. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte, 41 (same obverse die). HGC 2, 667. SNG ANS 222-224 (same obverse die). Beautifully toned and of fine style, a lovely example. Good very fine.
